WHO HATES PAINTING?? I know I sure do, and this homeowner undoubtedly feels my sentiment. His old front porch ceiling had seen better days; bead board sections were falling and paint was peeling. My solution was to smooth out the unevenness by running 1×3 furring strips perpendicular to the joists and drive them in with deck screws. This really secured the loose bead boards and tightened the entire ceiling structure. Next, I installed white aluminum soffit across all surfaces, and wrapped the beam with smooth aluminum fascia. Finally, the old wood columns were replaced with sturdy fluted aluminum columns. For extra support, I added 4×4 posts inside each column. This porch now looks like a million bucks and will stand the test of time! Can I help your front porch? 419-212-3200
