ACCESSIBILITY ALL AROUND! This homeowner had difficulty stepping over the old cast iron tub wall when taking a shower. Our solution was to replace it with a new Lyons Elite fiberglass/acrylic shower base that fits perfectly into the old tub alcove (60″ x 32″). This gives the elderly homeowner a mere 3 1/2″ sill to step over rather than a 16″ tub wall. The shower base works perfectly with standard nail-to-stud surround, and the whole ensemble installs in about two days. In addition, three heavy-duty stainless grab bars were strategically placed on each wall of the shower for ease of entry and movement. Finally, we topped it off with a Sterling bypass shower door as well as a new custom vanity top, drop-in sink, and lifetime Moen faucet.
