This homeowner wished to have a new tub installed since the nearly 20 year old existing bathtub had developed a crack and was leaking to the subfloor underneath.  When I install a new Lyons bathtub, I always use a thick mortar bed to structurally reinforce and support the tub bottom.  Likewise, I like to use a sturdy nail-to-stud surround that is fastened to the wall by both adhesive as well as screws.  This particular surround features a smooth, easy-to-clean surface (few nooks and crannies for soap scum to gather), and also four deep shelves for convenient storage.  This Lyons tub/surround requires no caulk since there is a waterproof flange at connection points to keep water within the tub.  The tub itself is a nice 19″ deep for extra comfort and relaxation while soaking.  My labor price for this job includes all necessary drywall work and all new plumbing/shut-offs from the floor up.  If you wish to inquire about a new bathtub (which can be replaced in a weekend), reach out for your FREE ESTIMATE: 419-212-3200.
