I charge a flat rate to remove your old water heater and install a new one (electric).

Why electric?  For one, they are much cheaper to purchase than gas (you save 30% in many cases) and are more efficient.  Gas-fired water heaters tend to lose 3.5% of their stored heat per hour; whereas, electric (because of better insulation) only lose 1% per hour.  Another reason for choosing electric is the safety issue.  No open flame or chance of toxic fume contamination.  Electric water heaters will typically last longer (up to 18 years) as opposed to gas (sometimes as little as 8 years).  Electric water heaters are the way to go (and no more lighting that stupid pilot light)!
