This bathroom makeover in Hicksville was long overdue! The old linoleum flooring was stained, hardened, and curled at the edges, the vanity top was dated, and the 36″ corner shower was cracked and leaking to the floor beneath.
Rather than removing the old flooring, we installed a glueless vinyl flooring right over top (after cutting up the curled edges of the existing floor, of course). Afterwards, I installed a nice white quarter round to cover the edges. The old shower was pulled, and we replaced it with a slightly larger 39″ corner shower with high-quality nail-to-stud surround. Before this, we replaced a small section of the subfloor where the old shower had been leaking. The old toilet was in decent shape, but the homeowner decided to upgrade to a new elongated bowl with a couple extra inches of height. It was quite nice, I must say! The old 30″ solid hardwood vanity was in decent shape, so we reused it and purchased a new man-made marble top with new faucet. The old mirror is staying, but the homeowner is going to paint the frame to match the new white trim. The old two-light fixture was removed and replaced with a nice three-light fixture to really brighten up the room. Two old GFI outlets by the sink were replaced with new ones, complete with built-in LED nightlights – sweet! Finally, the old 24″ baseboard heater was rusty and corroded, so a new $29 model was installed in its place. The homeowner painted the walls and all the trim bright white, and this bathroom looks brand new! Give me a shout if I can help you remodel YOUR outdated bathroom! 419-212-3200
