YIKES!  We were dealing with plenty of plaster and moisture issues with this remodel, especially around the tub alcove.  Tile was falling, top-coat was bubbling, and the mold was pretty bad.  Our goal was to remove all the tile wainscot and popcorn ceiling texture, and then apply skimcoat to clean up the look of the walls and ceiling.  The plaster around the shower had to be completely removed down to the studs and the area dried out to accept the new nail-to-stud fiberglass surround (self-sealing), along with new moisture resistant drywall the rest of the way up to the ceiling.  In addition, a new Broan 110 CFM exhaust fan, light, heat unit was installed where an existing light fixture used to be (Elite Electrical Solutions, LLC).  The exhaust fan is properly vented to the outside to effectively eliminate any further moisture issues.  A brand new LED disc light really brightens up the shower area!  The vanity is a solid oak custom built unit (by John Battershell Cabinets, LLC) along with a marble top and high quality Pfister faucet.  Flooring is solid floating vinyl plank is Fossil Rock Sandbar (by Pelican Creations) – it is PERFECT for wet locations and carries a 25 year residential warranty.  Looks great!  The homeowner wished to have a little more room around the toilet area, so we slid the toilet plumbing away from the wall about 10″ – really creates some space!  Finally, I had my sub-contractor give the walls and ceiling a fresh coat of primer & paint to complete the look.  This bathroom now looks spacious, clean, bright, and modern, ready for the homeowner to enjoy for years to come.
