NEAR TOTAL GUT – Everything was removed from this bathroom (fixtures, paneling, floor tile, cement board, sub-floor) before starting.  The drywall under the paneling was in good shape, so we were able to skim coat for a smooth finish.  The old cast iron tub was removed and replaced with a Sterling Ensemble Curve shower unit (10 year warranty), featuring smooth, easy-to-clean walls, ample shelf storage, and a convenient shaving ledge.  As always, I install shower pans in a sturdy mortar bed for years of durability.  The shower door is a high quality Sterling Finesse Peak semi frameless model with CleanCoat technology on the inside of the doors to help deter bacteria growth and water drops.  The floor covering is Great Lakes Traverse series luxury vinyl plank featuring a realistic wood grain pattern, pre-attached accoustac pad, and a stellar LIFETIME WARRANTY.  Plus, it is 100% waterproof, so it’s perfect for bathrooms and kitchens.  Walls (after skim coat) received a coat of Zinsser primer followed by Dutch Boy paint.  All trim was replaced with a solid poplar 1×4.  The old toilet and vanity/top were relatively new, so both were re-installed.  Also, there was a nifty little attic access door and medicine cabinet that received a facelift (pine beadboard framed in with solid pine trim).  This bathroom has a totally new feel!  If you are interested in having your bathroom rejuvenated, reach out!  Estimates are always FREE: 419-212-3200.
