WELCOME TO THE 21st CENTURY! This fine home in rural Hicksville was in desperate need of some contemporary updates. Most fixtures/flooring were from the 1970s when this home was last remodeled. That is where we stepped in. We were asked to update two of the most important rooms that will increase a home’s value: the kitchen and the bathroom.
In the kitchen, we removed all cabinets and replaced with some stock cabinetry from Menards (homeowners handled the multi-layer finishing). Counter top is a high resolution laminate (Looks great!) and included a custom installation of a double 9″ stainless sink. These guys have never had a dishwasher, so we were able to run the necessary wiring and plumbing to accommodate a high-quality Samsung unit. Let me tell you, this thing is QUIET as it runs! Finally, a nice laminate wood floor was installed along with baseboard and a new remote-controlled ceiling fan.
The bathroom was a total gut, as far as the fixtures. Tub, toilet, and vanity were all removed and replaced with new. There was some major rotting that had occurred around the toilet, so some replacement subfloor and a new toilet flange was necessary. Finally, new glueless vinyl flooring was installed, followed by some nice ranch baseboard. Looks great!
In addition to the above rooms, we ran the laminate flooring out into a mudroom entry area and down the stairs to the back door. In the laundry room we installed the same high-quality glueless vinyl flooring and new primed baseboard to finish the look. All in all, this home looks impressive!
